We needed to come up with a site that had a minimal design, easy to navigate user experience and that it would showcase the artist history, art and contact information. The site needed to be multi-language to support Chinese visitors as well.
Designing an enveloping and dynamic space.
A simple gallery would not have sufficed. The artist needed a portfolio type gallery where you can keep different categories to organize his art into and the user can navigate through.
Each category and image also has a description area with captions on each piece explaining the art.
In this modern age, multi-language sites are not rare. However, many developers simply integrate Google or other famous translation tools so that the translation is automatic and without editing content.
The issue with these tools is that the translation is not always perfect, in fact, most of the times context will be lost in translation. Our custom multi-language module allows for editing content and practically everything on the site to a specific language or even a specific country.
That way the experience is unique to each language, to each visitor.
